Mission

The Institute will re-introduce into the African American community cultural practices and traditions that stimulate the family’s ability to heal themselves from the negative influences that prevent positive family development of attitudes, ideas and behaviors. In so doing, the reunification of the African American family and the revitalization of the community will be realized through the process of re-establishing the best of one’s culture.

Founders

Dr. Lawford Goddard- Received his doctoral degree from Stanford University with a minor in Education. He has recently retired as a lecturer in Black Studies at San Francisco State University. Dr. Goddard has studies and studied and traveled extensively in the Caribbean and has conducted research on the political economy of migration, the process of economic development, population changes and their impact on the system of social stratification in this region.

Dr. Wade W. Nobles, Ph. D. - Received his Ph.D. from University. He has a special interest in the social, ethnic and cultural relativity of social science, research and evaluation models. Dr. Nobles is a prominent theoretical scientist in the fields of African Psychology, cross-cultural and ethno-human functioning. William E. Cavill III, M.A.- Holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, and a Masters of Arts. Mr. Cavil worked in the area of family research and development since 1975. He has always held an interest in our youth and has worked as both a professional and volunteer counselor for teen parents and juvenile offenders. He has also worked as an Education and Prevention specialist for adolescent pregnant girls dealing with substance abuse during pregnancy and African American adolescent males on HIV/AIDS Prevention. Mr. Cavil is Co-Founder of the HAWK Federation, a Black male development project.
