An Educational Process for Achieving Educational
Excellence with African American Students
AUDIENCE: New and experienced teachers, administrators, professional
developers, support providers, and parent/family/community members.
CONTENT: A multifaceted institute which includes sessions on the “Nsaka Sunsum:
Touching the Spirit” with national and local university educators/scholars noted for
their work in effective programs for African American students. Large and smallgroup
sessions will be held with successful classroom teachers and university
educators who will demonstrate and analyze effective classroom curriculum,
instructional practices, and discuss classroom and school-wide implementation.
REGISTRATION: DUE BY July 1, 2005 (College credits are available)
FEE: $550 per person; $1400 for a School Team of three (A School Team is any combination of school site personnel)
This institute is aligned with NCLB, Title One and SAIT Intervention Requirements.
